Spiced apple cake


Spiced apple cake

makes 1 x 8” round tin (greased and lined), oven at 180c fan

Indredients

8oz softened butter
8oz caster sugar
4 free range eggs
8oz self raising flour
Drop of milk
1 grated apple, 1 sliced apple – no need to peel
1 tsp mixed spice
1 grated orange

Method

Whisk butter and sugar until it becomes light and fluffy.  Add eggs with half of flour, whisk, add rest if flour and fold in with the milk.  Add spices, orange and grated apples, stir. Line base of tin with sliced apple. Add cake mix. Bake in oven for 20 mins approx, or until feels firm to touch and bounces back. Turn upside down and serve with double or clotted cream.
