Pak
Choi with Ginger and Garlic
serves 6
Ingredients
750g
pak choi, trimmed, washed and cut into half inch strips
2 tsp ginger, grate the root including the skin
1 garlic clove, finely chopped
2 tsp vegetable oil
½ tsp sesame oil
1 tbsp soy sauce
1 tbsp sesame seeds
Method
Heat oil in wok and add the pak choi, ginger and garlic.
Cook until the pak choi wilts, stirring continuously.
Add the sesame oil and soy sauce and cook for a further
minute, keep stirring.
Finally add the sesame seeds and stir through before serving.
Variations:
This is a good side dish or with chicken, tofu or fish or
beef.
Cook the meat or tofu first then continue the recipe as
below.
A tablespoon of peanut butter goes well with beef.
For a warm salad add the cooked pak choi to a couple of
handfuls of salad leaves (Mizuna, mibuna, mustard etc).
This would be good with a chopped up boiled egg added at the
end.
